Features

This may not matter to everyone, but I’m particularly fond of the snow-capped mountain carbon fiber weave pattern, which looks more elegant and striking than the original.

The new Leofoto LS-324C Pro features water-resistant, sand-proofing with bright blue double O-ring seals as seen in the photo above. This promises to keep sand, dust and salt water out of your precious tripod during those trips to the beach.

The new twist locks are a revelation. They’re much more comfortable to handle and grip and it’s one of my favourite features of the new tripod. It’s something you have to feel to understand.

Accessory socket because why not?

As with other Leofoto tripods, it also sports a 1/4” accessory socket in case you want to attach a magic arm, phone holder, led light or similar doodad.

The tripod also comes with spikes and a carry bag.

Impressions and Conclusions

I’ve tested the tripod for a few months before producing this review. I must say it’s a joy to work with this tripod. The Leofoto LS-324C Pro, with ballhead and camera installed reaches my eye level (I’m about 1.76m tall), so I no longer have to bend down to look through the viewfinder. This is a huge plus in my book!

Another plus is the lowest height it can go. With its legs opened to the widest angle, I can get low angle shots with my camera close to ground and securely supported. That’s a huge benefit for photographing reflections and water surfaces.

It’s also reasonably compact and can fold down nicely to fit in my luggage or strapped to my camera bag. For a premium-quality tripod like this, I feel that the retail price of $499 SGD isn’t unreasonable.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed using this tripod and would love to have it as part of my daily kit. It’s extremely well engineered, with smooth movement and incredibly steady support for my camera gear. I’d trust it with my expansive camera and lenses on a windy mountainside.
